Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center

Project overview

Luceplan confirms its role of leadership in the world of international contract lighting, collaborating on the creation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, the new facility designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop. For the National Library of Greece (NLG), Luceplan has supplied 150 Grande Costanza floor and suspension lamps with white shades, to enhance and bring harmony to a space that will be a repository of Greek cultural heritage.

Grande Costanza, the large version of the iconic Costanza designed in 1986 by Paolo Rizzatto, has been chosen in this project for its always apt, timely and elegant style, as well as its optimal lighting performance; its presence in this context is as discreet as it is important, furnishing the spaces with its clean, essential figure. Its dimmable, domestic, appealing light is perfectly suited to the requirements of balance and delicacy of a public space: in this case, a facility for reading and research.
